80:1

80:1

Sahih International

The Prophet frowned and turned away

80:2

to top

80:2

Sahih International

Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting].

80:3

to top

80:3

Sahih International

But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified

80:4

to top

80:4

Sahih International

Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him?

80:5

to top

80:5

Sahih International

As for he who thinks himself without need,

80:6

to top

80:6

Sahih International

To him you give attention.

80:7

to top

80:7

Sahih International

And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified.

80:8

to top

80:8

Sahih International

But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge]

80:9

to top

80:9

Sahih International

While he fears [ Allah ],

80:10

to top

80:10

Sahih International

From him you are distracted.

80:11

to top

80:11

Sahih International

No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder;

80:12

to top

80:12

Sahih International

So whoever wills may remember it.

80:13

to top

80:13

Sahih International

[It is recorded] in honored sheets,

80:14

to top

80:14

Sahih International

Exalted and purified,

80:15

to top

80:15

Sahih International

[Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels,

80:16

to top

80:16

Sahih International

Noble and dutiful.

80:17

to top

80:17

Sahih International

Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he.

80:18

to top

80:18

Sahih International

From what substance did He create him?

80:19

to top

80:19

Sahih International

From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him;

80:20

to top

80:20

Sahih International

Then He eased the way for him;

80:21

to top

80:21

Sahih International

Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.

80:22

to top

80:22

Sahih International

Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.

80:23

to top

80:23

Sahih International

No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him.

80:24

to top

80:24

Sahih International

Then let mankind look at his food -

80:25

to top

80:25

Sahih International

How We poured down water in torrents,

80:26

to top

80:26

Sahih International

Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts],

80:27

to top

80:27

Sahih International

And caused to grow within it grain

80:28

to top

80:28

Sahih International

And grapes and herbage

80:29

to top

80:29

Sahih International

And olive and palm trees

80:30

to top

80:30

Sahih International

And gardens of dense shrubbery

80:31

to top

80:31

Sahih International

And fruit and grass -

80:32

to top

80:32

Sahih International

[As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock.

80:33

to top

80:33

Sahih International

But when there comes the Deafening Blast

80:34

to top

80:34

Sahih International

On the Day a man will flee from his brother

80:35

to top

80:35

Sahih International

And his mother and his father

80:36

to top

80:36

Sahih International

And his wife and his children,

80:37

to top

80:37

Sahih International

For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.

80:38

to top

80:38

Sahih International

[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -

80:39

to top

80:39

Sahih International

Laughing, rejoicing at good news.

80:40

to top

80:40

Sahih International

And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust.

80:41

to top

80:41

Sahih International

Blackness will cover them.

80:42

to top

80:42

Sahih International

Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.
